Crates and Boxes

All SPS crates are manufactured from high quality timber sourced from suppliers who use sustainable resources. Each crate can be Heat Treated or Fumigated to allow for the exportation of goods. All products inside our crates and boxes can also be covered in Heat Shrink to airlock the contents and provide waterproofing. Depending on your needs, we at SPS are able to manufacture 3 different types of timber crates namely:

  • Skeleton Crates
  • Slatted Crates
  • Solid Boxes

Each of our crates can be made with a normal base, or alternatively with a Heavy duty base for more weighty items.

Skeleton Crates

 

Skeleton Crates are a cost effective solution for packaging your items which need a little more than just a pallet. They are secure for road, rail, sea and air transportation; however, as the majority of the item will be exposed, we do not recommend packing fragile, or valuable items in them as there is opportunity for theft and potential damage.  Skeleton crates do not provide much in the way of vertical support and therefore cannot be stacked on top of each other.

Slatted Crates

 

SPS’s Slatted crates are timber crates that are manufactured with gaps between the boards of the sides, ends and lids. The reduction in timber usage as compared with Solid Crates provides an economic packaging solution that is also a ‘safer’ alternative to Skeleton Crates – as the potential for theft and damage is drastically narrowed. Slatted Crates are suitable for all forms of transportation, and with an overall weight that is lower than the Solid Crate counterpart, the related transportation costs will effectively be reduced.

Solid Boxes

 

Solid Boxes from Storage Pallet Solutions are designed for optimum protection of the contents during transportation and export. The sides, ends and lids are fully enclosed with timber preventing any damage or theft.  The sturdy construction of our Solid Boxes ensures peace of mind when sending fragile or valuable goods on long unpredictable journeys, or in instances where the boxes will be stacked.
